In few words, and as a summary, I am member of the Association 2D2B (of Young Scientists in Biology of Bordeaux) since January 2004. As a first experience in an association, I chose to get involved in the project aming to promote communications between private companies and academic labs through the organization of an annual meeting. This was also the opportunity for me to learn the different job opportunities after the PhD and to develop my skills in working as a group, without personal benefit. This position as an active member led me to be designated President of the National Network BIOTechno of Young Scientists in Life Sciences (Réseau BIOTechno: www.biotechno.asso.fr) in 2006. After some discussions with other PhD students from other disciplines, we decided in 2007 to create in Bordeaux a multi-disciplinary association vocated to favorize PhDs recruitement in private companies: AquiDoc (www.aquidoc.fr).

The translational project I am involved in represent a good example of applications of the skills I developed all along these associative involvements since it relies on collaborative work between private companies and academic labs.

Today, I am still involved in these associations. Even if my scientific projects drove me to different destinations, I tried to keep being involved in their development, mostly as an external consultant. However, it is highly probable that my involvement may be more important in next few months...
